Giovanni Asta
Consultancy Experience
Giovanni joined Rohde Public Policy in September 2009. He works on policy development and stakeholders relations. He notably handles dossiers and projects on patient policies, biotechnology, infectious diseases and social affairs .
Think-Tank Experience
Prior to joining Rohde Public Policy, Giovanni has been the Director of EPPOSI, the European Platform for Patients’ Organisations, Science and Industry - a patient-led think-tank aiming to establish an European alliance of patients' organisations, academic science and industry jointly working on European healthcare policies. There, he gained a great knowledge and understanding of health policy and stakeholders relations.
He has combined a wide range of dossiers, including issues related to Orphan Drugs and Rare Disorders, Patients’ Safety, Clinical Trials and Chronic Conditions. As Director of EPPOSI, he has managed a number of high level policy meetings in National Parliaments.
Experience in Non-Governmental Organizations
Giovanni also has further working experience with non-governmental organizations, including the AFEM, the Paris-based Association for Women of Southern Europe.
Political Experience
Giovanni worked on EU-related dossiers in both the Italian Parliament and the Italian Ministry for Infrastructures and Transports.
Giovanni introduces the civil society’s perspective in all projects and brings a significant cooperative network from within the European institutions, as well as political institutions in France and Italy.
Education
Giovanni has a bilingual Master degree in Law from the University of Nanterre and the University of Bologna.
Giovanni speaks English, French, Italian and has a good knowledge of Spanish.
