Political Scientist

Consultancy Experience

Jan joined Rohde Public Policy in 2011. He works as a Policy Researcher on EU and national healthcare related issues in Brussels. Jan’s background, cross-disciplinary studies and previous experience both in private and public sector gives him an understanding of complex relations involving public and private organization. He also has good knowledge of the European Union institutions as well as Belgian and Polish domestic issues and has a high interest in political communication.

Private sector experience

Before joining Rohde Public Policy Jan worked in communication and HR for a Brussels based leading French multinational company, where his duties involved drafting the company monthly newsletter, internal communication and procedure formalisation.  One of his main tasks was focused on streamlining processes and providing clear communication in order to facilitate changes in the company.

Public sector experience

Jan worked for the Political Department of the Polish Embassy in Brussels. There, he was responsible for press coverage, Belgian domestic politics analysis and participated in event planning. He also contributed to a clear understanding of the Belgian political crisis back in 2008 through a series of papers explaining reasons and causes of the actual crisis providing clear insight for Polish civil servants delegated to and working in Brussels.

Academic

Jan holds a Master Degree in Political Science with a specialization in International Relations from the University of Brussels (ULB).  The subject of his thesis  was the usage of the internet by francophone political parties in Belgium during regional elections in 2009.

Jan is fluent in French, Polish and English.
