Consultancy Experience
Lars joined Rohde Public Policy in Berlin in 2010. He previously worked in various functions and organizations both in the private and public sector where he gained a sound understanding of the political decision-making process on the national and international level. Recently working for the World Health Organization (WHO), Lars has got a good knowledge of the structure and agenda of WHO and participated in multilateral negotiations at several international conferences.
Experience in international organizations
Before joining Rohde Public Policy, Lars worked with the Convention Secretariat of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) at the WHO headquarters in Geneva. In this function he contributed to the development of the legal framework for international tobacco control, one of the major public health issues in the last decade. Previously, he had worked at the Permanent Mission of Germany to the UN institutions in Geneva, assisting in public health matters and humanitarian issues.
Parliamentary Experience
Lars also gained a good understanding of German parliamentary procedures, working at the Bundestag for a parliamentary group in the field of economic cooperation and development.
Media and PR Experience
Besides the public sector, he got familiar with the media business and public relations during his work in a project company’s marketing office and his editorial employments with a newspaper and the Franco-German TV programme ARTE in Strasbourg.
Academia
Lars holds a Master degree in Communication Sciences with a specialization in Political Sciences from the Universities of Hohenheim and Stuttgart, Germany. He did parts of his studies at the SciencesPo Bordeaux in France. Lars speaks German, English and French along with some Spanish.
