Economist

Consultancy Experience

Malvika joined Rohde Public Policy in Brussels in 2011 where she is currently based . Prior to this, Malvika worked as a Consultant on Intellectual Property Issues focusing on health.

Pharmaceutical industry experience

Malvika has previously worked in the Public Affairs and Global Health Policy division of the international branch of the research-based pharmaceutical industry in Geneva, Switzerland.

Based on her experience, she has extensive knowledge of the research-based pharmaceutical industry and its relevant dossiers, both at the international and the European level. She has a wide range of areas of expertise ranging from global health issues, trade and intellectual property issues pertinent to the health and pharmaceutical industries.

In her previous positions, she has been in charge of drafting, analyzing and writing reports, liaising with various stakeholders, in both the public and private sector, and consulting clients as and when appropriate. She has also authored and edited articles for leading think tanks.

International experience

Malvika has worked for various international organizations in the past. She has worked for the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva and the International Organization of Migration (IOM). Additionally while working in Geneva, and liaising with the World Health Organization (WHO), she gained extensive knowledge of the WHO and the UN system in general. She has a sound understanding of the decision-making processes of international organizations both at the European and international levels. Having written her Master’s thesis on human rights, she also has extensive knowledge of human rights and international law.

Academia

Malvika holds a B.A (Honors) Degree in Economics from the University of Delhi (India) and a Masters in International Affairs from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID) in Geneva, Switzerland.

She speaks English, Hindi and French and has a basic knowledge of Russian.
