Consultancy Experience

Mark joined Rohde Public Policy in 2010. He works in the London office on policy development and analysis and stakeholder relations, with a particular focus on healthcare issues in the UK.
He notably handles dossiers and projects on blood related disorders, blood safety issues and developments in the area of eyesight.

Brussels and Westminster Political Experience

Before joining Rohde Public Policy, Mark spent six years working for senior politicians in both the House of Commons in Westminster and the European Parliament in Brussels and Strasbourg.
Whilst working a Parliamentary Researcher for Gregory Barker MP, then Shadow Minister for the Environment, Mark worked on environmental issues related to climate change and renewable energy, as well as the 2005 UK General Election campaign.
During his time in the European Parliament in Brussels, Mark worked for the former UK Government Health Minister and EPP-ED Group Environment Committee Co-ordinator John Bowis OBE MEP on health and environment issues, including cross-border healthcare, rare diseases and the climate change package of measures.
Mark was also Head of Office to the newly elected MEP for the London Region, Marina Yannakoudakis MEP, where he worked on the pharmaceutical package of measures and issues related to organ donation.

Charity and Non-Governmental Organization Experience

Outside of the workplace, Mark has a keen interest in foreign affairs. He co-founded a British-German relations focused charity, Bridge International Dialogue, with four other directors, which has its roots in post-war democratic institution building and is currently serving a two year term as Director for Membership.

Mark has also worked for the Westminster based public policy think tank, Policy Exchange, where he prepared briefings on foreign affairs and defence issues affecting both European and world security, including global responses to terrorism and the future of the EU Foreign and Security Policy.

Education

Mark has two Master of Arts degrees from the University of Sussex in the UK. One of these is in International Relations, where he specialised in the EU and integration theory, and the other is in American Literature and Theory, where he specialised in the work of the author Don Delillo. He also has a Bachelor's with Honours Degree in English Literature from the University of Southampton.
